Ludwig Cancer Research

Organizing a fragmented worldwide infrastructure under a single branded umbrella for research collaboration.

Ludwig Cancer Research is an international community of distinguished scientists dedicated to preventing and controlling cancer. Since its inception, the Institute has invested more than $1.7 billion of its own resources in cancer research, and has an endowment valued at $1.2 billion.

Originally Ludwig’s online presence was a collection of independent websites scattered over twenty centers around the world and six US institutions: Johns Hopkins University, Dana-Farber/Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Stanford University and the University of Chicago. Ludwig wanted to present a cohesive brand, user experience and leverage the content throughout the various sites, while maintaining the independence the local centers desired.

We built a system that allows each local center day-to-day management of staff, news, research and publications with the overall site being managed by the marketing team focusing on global initiatives and case studies.
